Wailoa Art Show, March, 2002

People's Choice and Turner's Choice Awards:

During the show, visitors to the galleries were encouraged to vote for their favorite piece in each of the main gallery and the mini-gallery containing the fruitwood display.

On the morning of the last day of the show, each turner in the club was provided two ballots, one for each gallery.

The the results of voting for People's Choice and Turner's Choice awards was very unusual. Nearly every piece got at least one vote from the visitors of the show. The competition was fierce, with few votes separating the winner from the rest of the leaders of each field.

In the end, the People and the Turners both chose the same object for each category! Each of the winners was awarded two $75 gift certificates.
